Citizens of Earth: Behold! A report from Planet Gonzo!

A few quick bits of news for the upcoming season.

“Pajama Nightmare” is now available for rental on Amazon Instant VOD service. Those who rent it will be treated to an outtake not available on the DVD version. Stay for the credits!

“Booty Meat” is an official selection of the 2013 Mascara And Popcorn Film Fest. Turns out, Canada loves singing cannibals who eat butts.

Production has been completed on our latest movie “Powerless”. Stay tuned for info on how you can see it!

Our compilation “Mondo Gonzo” will premiere on Amazon Instant this July. It contains our library titles “I’m In The Basement”, “Blood Witch” and “Cannibal Sisters” with wrap-around segments featuring Gonzorella (these have not been seen since our 2008 Underground Horror Show).

Fans of the old stuff will also want to check out our 2004 film “Scab”, now available for free on our YouTube page.

It’s here! A full year in the making, Pajama Nightmare is our first in-house anthology feature ever available on DVD.

Including wrap-arounds shot at Spooky Empire in Orlando, FL with I Spit On Your Gravy star Mia Mayo, the disc contains our 2012 productions Space Boobs and Booty Meat as well as the main story Pajama Nightmare.

In addition to the usual bonus material you’ve come to expect from us (audio commentary tracks, making-of footage and easter eggs), the DVD features a bonus short film vault with several of the other movies we made in 2012 including My Minute With Marilyn, The Rang, Travel Size, Cary Grant Takes LSD, Rock Paper Satan, and more.

Our web series “I Spit On Your Gravy” is back with 7 new episodes that will premiere each week at cult film website Couchcutter.com (where you might spot Joy Wood from “Mae of the Dead” and “Booty Meat” modeling some rad t-shirts). The first episode made its debut on October 31st, 2012.

Mia and Andrew traveled to Orlando, FL the week before Halloween for the Spooky Empire convention, where they came face to face with such film legends as Traci Lords and Patty Mullen, aka “Frankenhooker”. With the help of Tim Anderson (Bloody-Disgusting.com) and Lori Bowen (director of “JustUs” and “Stella Buio”), wrap-around segments were filmed for the upcoming “Pajama Nightmare” DVD. Countess Samela will be in town to film her parts in a few days, and we’ll announce the release date soon.

First things first. Our 2012 midnight show was the most successful set of screenings we have ever pulled off. A record 13 films were shown on October 19th-20th at Athens Cine, all produced in the past year. We would like to thank everyone who came out to share the experience with us, and everybody who helped make it all possible. For those who couldn’t be there, Atlanta’s Buried Alive Film Festival will be playing “Travel Size” and “Mae of the Dead” on Saturday, Nov. 10th at 5pm. While distribution plans for several of the new films are still in the works, you can view a few of them online for free right now by clicking the links below.

At the moment, it’s looking like “Pajama Nightmare” will become our first-ever anthology film for release on DVD and On Demand sometime this holiday season. We will be shooting wrap-around segments with Mia Mayo and Countess Samela in the coming weeks and including “Booty Meat” and “Space Boobs” as part of the package.

We hit the ground running in 2012 with back-to-back productions in January (“Space Boobs”) and February (“Mae Of The Dead”, pictured above), followed by a music video collaboration with our friends from Los Meesfits and the newly released short “My Minute With Marilyn” available right now for free.

The planned Valentine’s Day DVD release for last year’s “One Nine Hundred” was put on hold while we make some changes to the disc. Instead of the 10th anniversary cut of “Pop Goes The Evil”, the disc will instead feature the sex robot short “Completely Defective” starring Countess Samela, Andrew Shearer, Henrique Couto and Alicia Lozier.

This summer will see our long-awaited slumber party movie “Pajama Nightmare” finally come to life as a co-production with long-running Athens burlesque troupe Effie’s Club Follies. Like us, they are obsessed with boobs and comedy, but also share the same strong DIY ethic and ravenous need to create weird shit. It’s truly a match made in cult cinema heaven.

Pop Goes The Evil (2001) by gonzoriffic

We made it, folks. Ten years ago, Gonzoriffic made its first short film, “Pop Goes the Evil” (a werewolf movie so low budget, there was no werewolf in it). A decade’s worth of full moons later, we’re experiencing the strongest and most prolific time in our history. On Friday, October 21st at Athens Cine, we will present a show full of all the movies we’ve made in 2011, including our black-and-white B-movie sextravaganza, “Dr. Humpinstein’s Erotic Caste”. We’ve got thunder, lightning, girl gangs, a mad scientist and more boobies than the universe can handle. Don’t miss it!

Production on our new movie has been going on for the past several weeks now. This one involves a lot of things we have never attempted before. Lots of prop building, set construction and B&W pin-up style photography. Stop by our official Facebook page to eyeball a few delightful on-set pictures. Audrey Page, Rachael Deacon, Ava Sectomy, Countess Samela  and Holly Ween from last year’s release “Dollface” make up a cast that also includes Thio Rose, Kert Rats and Priscilla Lee Press-On from “Fox Holes”. Longtime collaborator Matt Comegys has already completed a soundtrack of original retro-style rock songs to fit with the Ed Wood / Russ Meyer aesthetic of the movie. Filming is set to wrap in early June for an October release.

Now that the official announcement has been made, we can report that Rachael Deacon’s movie “A Fever and a River” has been selected for the 2011 Viscera Film Festival. We’re extremely proud of her and of the film, and look forward to disturbing audiences with it around the world for years to come.

Speaking of short films you can watch online, we’ve got three new ones for you to check out. The first is “Slayer Mailbox”, which was made nearly a year ago and was featured in our fall show at Athens Ciné. Next is “A Wet Dream On Elm Street”, a Freddy Krueger fan film we made because some of us here are Freddy nerds. Last but not least, there’s “Your Mummy’s So Stupid”, which we actually entered in the iPhone Film Festival (the latter two movies were shot on an iPod Touch – isn’t that neat?) earlier this month. All three films star Rachael Deacon, with Ava Sectomy joining her for “Mummy”.

We’ve also completed two more films for possible inclusion in this summer’s CinErotic Film Festival in Atlanta. Last year, several of us were in attendance when they screened “Slayer Mailbox” and “Erotic Couch”, and a sexual chocolatic time was had by all. Our new movies are “Culo” starring Countess Samela and “Snuffcakes” starring Andi Rockz from “Dollface”. There are no plans for either film to be made available online, so you’ll have to come to the show or buy the next DVD!

And finally, we are proud to announce “Dollface” and “Berry Scary” screened on April 22nd at Englewood Cinema in Dayton, OH as part of our friend Andy Copp’s Independent Shadow Cinema series!
